After the introduction in the 1/500 scale, now the first Soviet supersonic jet, launched prior to the Concorde, is released one size bigger. In 1971, the original of this test plane took off for the first time. Contrary to the western competitor, the altogether 15 manufactured planes were only operated for a short time.
